Heather and Emily
Amber
Our family drawn by Emily, from l to r: Mom, Dad, Mason, Mitchell, and Paul D. I like Mitchell's round face to Paul's oval shaped face, and Heather's curly hair (look below). Too Cute!
Again, from l to r: Heather, Amber, Emily, Laura, and Mom.
A winter dessert of snow with rootbeer on top. We have also tried kool-aid and maple syrup as toppings.
I love the color combination here.

Consider This......
I am currently re-reading a few chapters from the book The Shaping of a Christian Family. This is not a how to book. The book tells of the childhood, family life, and the growing up years of Elisabeth Elliot. She was blessed of the Lord to have God-honoring parents. Her parents lived and raised their children for God's glory.
In chapter 14 she tells of the order in the home and time management. There are a few lines that I would like to share. I quote:
While some may regard strict punctuality as an amusing peculiarity
or an irritating compulsion, it was a matter of Christian conscience
to my father and hence to us. Lateness is stealing, he said. You
are robbing others of their most irreplaceable commodity, time.
Every Christian worker can discipline himself to be habitually on
time, by careful management and foresight. It relieves other people
of much anxiety, helps them not to waste time, and thus makes life
easier for them. It is a matter of common honesty and Christian
courtesy, and is in line with the injunction to "let all things be
done decently and in order" (1 Corinthians 14:40[AV]).
I was convicted when I read these lines. I reflected upon times when I have been inconsiderate and arrived late for whatever it may be. Courtesy, considering others before ourselves is practiced very little in our world. All we must do is look around us, and just maybe all we need to do is look within our own households. You know, our children learn best from us, so what are we teaching them? May we live the days that God graciously gives us for His Glory. Hebrews 10:24 - And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works.
Chicken Broth
If you're searching for a good chicken broth recipe. Try this one. I highly recommend this tasty broth. I have made it several times and have a good stock of it in the freezer. The recipe can be found at Pioneer Woman Cooks. She also supplies you with step by step photos of the recipes. It's hard not to get it right. While there you can view all of the other recipes she has available.
